Gas Safety Checks

The Gas Safety Regulations 1998 specifically deal with the installation, maintenance and use of gas appliances, fittings and flues in domestic and certain commercial premises. They place duties on certain landlords to ensure that gas appliances, fittings and flues provided for tenant use are safe.

Direct Gas highly recommend that an annual gas service is essential for prolonging the life of your gas appliances. We will test all appliances to ensure that they are working correctly and safely. Should there be any faults detected during the gas service we will provide you with
a report and a quotation for any
remedial work which may

Utilising the latent energy in the air: a sustainable solution

Air 'even cold air' is a constant and inexhaustible source of energy, and Worcester Greensource heat pumps work very effectively in outside temperatures as low as -20˚C. What's more, this advanced technology is well proven in Scandinavia and other parts of Europe. So it's more than suited to the UK's comparatively mild winters and is a highly efficient heating and hot water solution whatever the season. Installation is a relatively simple matter too.

Energy-saving options to provide heat all round

The new Worcester Greensource range offers a choice of two systems: air to air or air to water, both producing significant savings compared with a conventional heating system. Air to air heat pumps are an excellent choice where external space is limited as they require nothing more than a suitable outside wall. This makes them ideal for a wide range of property types, particularly those with open plan designs. Greensource air to water is ideal for low-temperature central heating such as underfloor but works equally with over-sized radiators with flow rates up to 65°C. A choice of 3 models with outputs of 6 - 9.5kW is available together with an internal hot water cylinder with a capacity of of 151 litres. Greensource air source heat pumps also come with a comprehensive, 2 year* warranty _ a reassurance of all the built-in quality and reliability for which Worcester and Bosch are renowned.

How do air source heat pumps work?

The technology inside an air source heat pump works on similar principles to the way a domestic fridge works. Heat pumps take advantage of the principles of thermal energy in order to achieve their results. Both types of air source heat pump operate in a similar way. The external fan unit draws in the outside air and converts the latent heat it contains on even the coldest of days into warm/cold air or hot water, depending on the type of heat pump.

How efficient are air source heat pumps?

When properly installed, an air source heat pump can produce up to 4 times more heat energy to the home than the electrical energy it consumes.

How Greensource air to water heat pumps distribute heat.

By converting the energy from the outside air into heat and transferring the heat to water so it can then be used with an existing style central heating system, Greensource air to water heat pumps are ideal for providing low cost heating throughout the year. This gives the advantage of connecting the heat pump to a new or existing wet system to provide the hot water for heating. As Greensource air to water heat pumps provide an outgoing flow temperature of 65°C, they are ideally suited for underfloor heating or oversized radiators.
